Day 0: The First Look

Hello, Hello!

Like so many adults, I have been burnt out with work and life, and life and work. I wanted freedom from the daily grind. Humans were not meant to predominately work for the rest of their lives!

Everytime some thing really bothered me at work, I would open a real estate website (you know which one) and start looking up properties that I can actually afford and walk away from the grind.

One day, I found it. In the high dessert of Southern California.

It was in the middle of nowhere

The existing structure is looking a little dilapitaed, but it has a powerline alredy connected

It previously had a well and a septic tank on property, and the studs looked good.

The seller agent encouraged me to visit the property on my own time and look around.

So I did.

Here are some pictures of the drive:

Going through the desert was beautiful, and felt so peaceful.

I also got to drive on the famous route 66

Here is a little snippit of the interior of the exisiting structure.

I know that it is going to be a lot of work, but I think it will all work out.

The drove out of the town during the sunset, it was so beautiful.

It almost felt like an honor to witness it

I gotta admit the sunset really sealed the deal for me!

Two weeks later, I closed escrow and your homegirl has 5 acres in the desert! I am ready to figure out how to make this place liveable! Whenever that may be!!

Stick around for the next visit!
