Trips 2 & 3: The Trash...

I swear, a few days after I got back from the previous trip I received a citation in the mail!

Turns out, all that pile of trash/junk on the land has to go. A 30 day notice!! I thought I would have more time to figure that out! I wanted to see if there was anything worth salvaging

Some people joked and said, "burn it!". No way! If I was responsible for a big-ass wild fire, smokey the bear would haunt me for life!

So, I would travel back down with no solid plan. I thought maybe I could sort it and get someone to pick up the rest. HAHAHA, wishful thinking! That pile was HUGE. There was no way I was going to have the time or energy to go through it. Suddenly, I have this sense of urgency to take care of this ASAP.

I hung out for a minute, enjoyed the views, and headed home to ponder.

I did notice some couches that I might have been able to give away for reupholstery, but I just did not have the time or resources to arrange that, and that kinda broke my heart.

I called the county for an extension and I surfed the web for some local junk haulers. I tried to call a few places. Only one place got back to me, $10,000! A piece of me died, nothing could have prepared me for that price. I reluctantly agreed and drove down to meet and pay him.

Just to get an idea of the size

AND for a third time, back to back, I drove back down!

I think I was pretty fortunate to meet this guy or maybe he just had really good customer service. To say the least he made me feel pretty good about the purchase of the property! It felt very validating. He said he and his crew would be done in 2 days. I was shooketh, I got a text in days with pictures that it was all done. I was pleased.

Now, I can shift my focus on to important things...The fence!!

Look at this gorgeous piece of slab that was under all that trash!!
